We are an Anglo-Japanese surface design studio based in London, England, and all of our products are carefully printed and manufactured in the UK. For the ones that aren’t manufactured in the UK, you’d be looking at our collaborations, which are designed and made exclusively in Japan! Great question! Whilst we usually sell our wallpaper to individuals who are looking to spruce up their homes with a fun design, we also want to promote the innovative use of wallpaper in smaller spaces- often, people imagine that wallpaper is only for people with high ceilings and lots of wall space, but that isn’t the case! It’s fun to use wallpaper in small amounts too, like within an alcove, on a bookshelf, or even to upcycle furniture or inside wardrobes!

We love collaborating on fun and interesting projects, and work with a number of companies to make exclusive lines for them including (but not limited to) paint, wall stickers, curtains and soft furnishings for furniture. In the past, we’ve also designed for bedding, ceramics, stationary and even lunchware! Our ethos is that ‘everything with a surface deserves a design’, and we are always open to developing designs for your needs. We are more than happy to discuss licensing or collaboration with our existing designs, so don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Our wallpaper and a number of our home accessories and lifestyle products are held by independent retailers in Japan, North America and more. As for our collaboration ranges sold in Japan, we are more than happy to help you buy these products! It may seem like a very specific question to have on our page, but we get asked this a lot! Our ‘Lady of the Manor’ wallpaper was a limited run, exclusive design produced and sold by Anthropologie a number of years ago. Whilst we’d love to say yes, we’re afraid we do not own distribution rights to this wallpaper and do not hold stock of it. Your best bet (as many have found) would be secondary sites like EBay, Mercari, Etsy, etc. Thanks so much for the love!

Whilst not exactly a Studio, we do have a ‘case study’ home in Hiroshima, Japan- a place very close to Yukari’s heart. ALCOVE Onomichi is a showcase for our products as well as an amalgamation of our passions and hobbies. We often rent this space out to different resident artists and companies to use as pop-up shops, event spaces or co-working hubs. We’d love for you to come and visit!
